I lived on Ly Son for 8 months in I built some of the buildings on the edge of the large crater were we had some radio equipment. I enjoyed going down to the beach with the children.
The fishermen would bring us lobsters to eat that they caught in their nets. When someone was ill, they would come up to our camp and our medic would call the mainland for a helicopter to take them to a doctor. One young girl had an appendicitis and they took her and her mother to the mainland.
