I have been a regular business user of this Hotel. If you are looking for a quiet holiday destination avoid at all costs. The nightclub is wall to wall prostitution, the girls are registered at the hotel reception then sent to the rooms of their chosen clients.
The evening in the lobby makes the red light district in amsterdam look tame, the morning exodus is amusing but all very sad and sordid. The hotel is old and showing its age a bit, if it wasnt for the prostitutes the hotel would be a very very average business hotel Avoid unless you are a businessman looking for prostitutes.
Stayed here in November and had a great experience. For Dubai, the cost was not too much, although the food and drink options in the hotel definitely make up for it!
Rooms were very nice and roomy, and I had a nice view of the water. There are a lot of options for food in the hotel, as well as the Galleria next door which has a couple bars and a club.
The major problem with the bars is the smoke -- it made me appreciate the nonsmoking restaurants and bars in the US! Location is a bit away from everything, but the taxis are cheap so it's not a huge deal. The metro is right across from the hotel as well. The hotel is OK. The place is not recently renovated, but this has been copensated by very good maintainance.
