This is a most beautiful location. Your picture is taken from the mountains in Montenegro but there is also a lot to see on the lake itself plus plenty of good food and drinks in cafes and restaurants nearby.
We left Tirana, about an hour and a half drive to the big lake. Unfortunately, it rained suddenly. We sat in a restaurant at the foot of the lake. Well worth a drive near It's huge so I can't imagine you will drive all the way around there's a lovely castle in shkodra that gives you the fantastic views to make it worthwhile venturing the distance for the lake. Plenty of room to relax but also to admire nature, with some key bird nesting and stopover sights and beautiful natural features.
This is an unusual lake in that there is no swimming. It's a scenic spot near the Croatian border and the locals are anxious to make it a tourist stop, therefore there are too many boats, too many restaurants and too many rooms and no We drove all around Shkodra lake and it was very beautiful!!
This would of been very useful as we travelled to the lake for If you think tat you will be able to swim in the lake, it will be mot so easy - we founded only 1 place n Albania where you can access to the water and try to take swimming - in Lake Shkodra resort via You must visit this place being in Albania.
More wild, untouched beaches, beautiful view, air, mountains, water. My boyfriend and I went to the castle and after this we wanted to go for a biclye route and just went with it and took the road that lays next to Shkodra Lake.
